Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by rinsing 1 cup of jasmine rice under cold running water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add the drained jasmine rice to the hot oil and toast it for 2 minutes.
  4. Carefully pour in 2 cups of chicken broth, followed by 1 teaspoon of salt and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper.
  5. Increase the heat to bring the mixture to a rolling boil, then reduce to the lowest setting and cover.
  6. After 18 minutes, remove the lid and add 2 tablespoons of butter.
  7. Sprinkle with chopped green onions and drizzle with 1 teaspoon of sesame oil, let rest for 5 minutes.
