Pasta Preparation
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add 8 oz of short pasta and cook until al dente, about 7-8 minutes. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, drain pasta, and set aside.
Cheese Sauce Creation
- In the same pot, melt 2 tbsp of unsalted butter. Whisk in 2 tbsp of all-purpose flour for 1-2 minutes. Gradually add 1 cup of heavy cream, whisking until smooth and thickened. Stir in Boursin and 1 cup of grated white cheddar until melted.
Combining Pasta and Sauce
- Fold the drained pasta into the cheese sauce. Adjust thickness with reserved pasta water or milk. Mix well.
Breadcrumb Topping
- Melt 2 tbsp of butter in a skillet. Add 1 cup of breadcrumbs, sautéing until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
Serving Preparation
- Transfer the pasta to a serving dish and top with breadcrumbs. Serve hot, optionally garnished with parsley.
