Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a medium bowl.
  3. Cream the butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time and mix thoroughly, then stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in chopped apples and soft caramel pieces gently.
  7. Mix together granulated sugar and cinnamon for the coating.
  8. Scoop portions of dough, roll them into balls, and coat in cinnamon sugar.
  9. Arrange the dough balls on the baking sheets, spaced 2 inches apart.
  10. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are firm and centers slightly soft.
  11. Cool on the baking sheet for 3-5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
