- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic. Cook for about 7–10 minutes until browned. Drain excess grease.
- In a large bowl, combine the beef mixture, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and half of the cheddar cheese. Stir until well mixed.
- Transfer the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish and spread evenly.
- Arrange the frozen tater tots on top of the beef mixture in a single layer.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until tater tots are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top. Bake for an additional 5 minutes until melted.
- Garnish with chopped green onions if desired before serving.
