  • 1/2 cup brown sugar Light or dark options can be used.
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour Use gluten-free flour for a gluten-free option.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Preparation Steps
  1. Lightly grease the inside of your crockpot with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine sliced apples with lemon juice, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt, mixing well for about 5 minutes.
  3. Transfer the apple mixture into the greased crockpot.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, melted butter, and vanilla extract until crumbly.
  5. Sprinkle the oat mixture over the apple filling evenly.
  6. Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 3 to 4 hours.
  7. Allow the crockpot apple crisp to cool for about 10 minutes before serving warm, preferably with vanilla ice cream.
