Preparation Steps
- Lightly grease the inside of your crockpot with butter or non-stick spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine sliced apples with lemon juice, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt, mixing well for about 5 minutes.
- Transfer the apple mixture into the greased crockpot.
- In a separate bowl, mix rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, melted butter, and vanilla extract until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the oat mixture over the apple filling evenly.
- Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 3 to 4 hours.
- Allow the crockpot apple crisp to cool for about 10 minutes before serving warm, preferably with vanilla ice cream.
