Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a skillet over high heat. Sear the boneless chuck roast for 2-3 minutes on each side.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the kosher salt, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, ground cumin, paprika, and ground black pepper.
  3. Rub the spice mixture evenly over the seared roast.
  4. Place the seasoned roast into the slow cooker and pour in the beef broth.
  5. Set the slow cooker to low for 8-9 hours.
  6. After cooking, shred the beef with two forks in the crockpot.
