Preparation
- Start by washing your cucumbers and apples thoroughly to remove any residues. Slice the cucumbers into thin rounds, about 1/8 inch, and cut the apples into thin wedges or cubes.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced cucumbers, apples, celery, and any additional ingredients like red onion or nuts. Gently toss the mixture until evenly distributed.
- In a separate small bowl, add the yogurt, mayonnaise (if using), honey or maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, and Dijon mustard. Whisk until smooth and creamy, then add salt and pepper to taste.
- Pour the prepared dressing over the salad mixture. Gently toss to ensure even coating.
- Sprinkle your choice of chopped fresh herbs over the salad and toss gently again.
