Step-by-Step Instructions for Easy 5-Minute McGriddle
  1. Prepare Pancake Batter: In a mixing bowl, combine pancake mix, milk, egg, and vegetable oil, whisking until smooth. Fold in maple syrup and allow to rest for about 5 minutes.
  2. Cook Pancake "Buns": Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat, grease lightly, and pour batter to form pancakes using a ring mold. Cook for 2-3 minutes, flip, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  3. Cook Eggs: In the same skillet, place the ring mold and pour a beaten egg inside. Cook for 1-4 minutes based on doneness. Lift the mold and slide the egg onto a plate.
  4. Cook/Prepare Meat: Cook bacon until crispy (3-4 minutes per side) or heat sausage until hot. Watch bacon for crispy edges!
  5. Assemble McGriddles: Layer cheese on one pancake, add egg and bacon or sausage. Top with another pancake and brush with warmed maple syrup if desired.
  6. Serve Immediately: Enjoy your warm McGriddles right after assembly, with sides like hash browns or fresh fruit.

For the best flavor, add small amounts of maple syrup into the pancake batter before cooking to create syrup pockets.
