Ingredients
  

For the Dough
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour can substitute with bread flour
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast or fresh yeast at a 1:3 ratio
  • 1 cup warm milk around 110°F
  • 1 tablespoon sugar can substitute with honey
  • 3 tablespoons butter softened; can use olive oil
  • 1 large egg can replace with flaxseed meal
  • 1 teaspoon salt fine sea salt is preferred
For the Filling
  • 4 cloves garlic cloves minced; fresh preferred
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped; can use dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning feel free to customize with favorite herbs
For the Cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheese mozzarella and cheddar blend
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan or nutritional yeast for vegan option

Method
 

Dough Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm milk. Allow it to sit until frothy.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt; pour in the yeast mixture along with softened butter and egg. Mix until shaggy.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place dough in greased bowl, cover, and let rise in warm place for about 1 hour until doubled.
Filling and Assembly
  1. Prepare the garlic filling by mixing butter, minced garlic, parsley, and Italian seasoning in a bowl.
  2. Combine the cheeses in another bowl until evenly mixed.
  3. Roll out dough into a rectangle, spread garlic mixture, then sprinkle cheese blend. Roll into a log and slice into 12 pieces.
  4. Place rolls in greased baking dish with space between each, cover, and let rise for 30-45 minutes.
Baking
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Bake rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  2. If desired, brush warm rolls with melted garlic butter and let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
