  1. Gather all ingredients on a clean countertop.
  2. Place the rice in a fine-mesh sieve and rinse it under cold running water until the water runs clear.
  3. In a medium-sized saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat, add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  4. Add rinsed rice to the saucepan with sautéed garlic and toast for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Pour in chicken broth, add salt and black pepper, bring to a gentle boil.
  6. Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer for 15-18 minutes.
