Method

Step‑by‑Step Instructions for Burrata Pesto Sandwich
  1. Begin by slicing the French baguette or ciabatta in half lengthwise, using a serrated bread knife for a clean cut. Scoop out some of the soft bread from the top half to create a cavity for holding the delicious fillings.
  2. Drizzle a generous amount of olive oil on the cut sides of both halves of the bread. Heat a skillet over medium heat or set your broiler to high, then place the bread cut sides down. Toast for about 2-3 minutes, until golden and crispy.
  3. Spread 3 tablespoons of fresh basil pesto liberally on the bottom half of the sandwich. On the other half, apply 2 tablespoons of Calabrian chili paste, ensuring it's evenly distributed.
  4. Take your 6 slices of prosciutto and fluff them up, draping them artfully over the pesto on the bottom half of the sandwich.
  5. Next, gently pat the 8 ounces of burrata dry to remove excess moisture and place it on top of the prosciutto. Sprinkle a pinch of flaky sea salt over the top for an added burst of flavor.
  6. Take the top half of the bread and press it firmly onto the burrata. This helps to meld all the flavors together while securing the delicious fillings inside.
  7. Finally, cut the assembled sandwich in half diagonally, showcasing the stunning layers within. Serve immediately while still warm.
