Ingredients
  

For the Dip
  • 2 cups Extra-Sharp Cheddar cheese grated; can be divided between the mixture and topping
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese room temperature; can be swapped with Neufchatel for a lighter dip
  • ¼ cup Cranberry Sauce heaping; feel free to use leftovers or a homemade version
  • ½ cup Fresh Cranberries can be replaced with frozen cranberries directly
Optional Spices
  • ⅛-¼ teaspoon Nutmeg fresh or ground; adds warm spice notes

Method
 

Directions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) or 350°F (175°C) for convection.
  2. Lightly spray a small 1½ quart baking dish with oil.
  3. Combine cream cheese with 1¾ cups of grated cheddar cheese in a mixing bowl and blend until smooth.
  4. (Optional) Grate in nutmeg and mix well.
  5. Stir in cranberry sauce and half of the fresh cranberries.
  6. Transfer the mixture to the baking dish and top with remaining cheddar cheese.
  7. Bake for 18 to 23 minutes until bubbly and golden, checking at 15 minutes if using convection.
  8. Serve immediately with crostini, crackers, or pita chips, and optional fresh nutmeg.
