  • 2 tablespoons Balsamic Vinegar or red wine/apple cider vinegar for variation
  • 1 teaspoon Sea Salt adjust to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Freshly Ground Black Pepper
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced) fresh preferred
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes optional, adjust to preference
For the Tomatoes
  • 4 large Tomatoes choose ripe, slightly soft for best flavor
For the Herbs
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Basil (chopped or dried) use less if dried
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley (chopped or dried) use less if dried

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Select and Prepare Tomatoes: Rinse large ripe tomatoes and slice them into wedges.
  2. Make the Marinade: Combine olive oil and balsamic vinegar, then add remaining marinade ingredients.
  3. Combine: Add sliced tomatoes to the bowl and pour marinade over them, tossing gently.
  4. Marinate: Cover and let sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes (1 to 2 hours preferred).
  5. Serve: Toss again before serving and arrange on a platter, drizzling extra marinade on top.
