Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure the cheese melts perfectly.
  2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the penne pasta until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large ovenproof skillet, heat oil over medium heat, add ground beef, and cook until browned. Add onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms, cooking until the vegetables are tender.
  4. Lower the heat, add condensed French onion soup and Worcestershire sauce, and stir. Mix cold water with cornstarch and add it to the skillet, simmering until thickened.
  5. Fold the cooked pasta into the skillet, mixing well. Ensure every piece of pasta is coated with the sauce.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top and ensure it covers the surface evenly.
  7. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
