Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, gently break apart the ground beef without overworking it. Divide into four equal portions and shape into thick patties.
  2. Season the formed patties with Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, and salt, allowing them to rest for 10 minutes at room temperature.
  3. Heat a grill or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes.
  4. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Irish cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.
  5. In a separate skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Set aside and use drippings to caramelize sliced onion for 10-12 minutes.
  6. To assemble burgers, start with toasted burger buns. Place cooked patty with melted cheese, add crispy bacon and caramelized onions, then top with the other half of the bun.
