  • 1 teaspoon Salt sea salt preferred
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper freshly ground is ideal
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil butter can be used instead
For the Sauce
  • 4 cloves Garlic (minced) add more for garlic lovers
  • 1/2 cup Bourbon high-quality bourbon recommended
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream or half-and-half for a lighter version
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce omit if unavailable
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon Mustard regular yellow mustard can be used
For Garnish
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley can also use chives or green onions

Equipment

  • large skillet

Method

Preparation Steps
  1. Generously season ribeye steaks with salt and freshly ground black pepper on both sides. Let rest at room temperature for about 10 minutes.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil, and sear steaks for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Transfer to a plate and cover with foil.
  3. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in bourbon, scraping the skillet to deglaze.
  4. Allow the mixture to simmer for 2-3 minutes. Then, lower the heat, add heavy cream, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard, whisking until smooth.
  5. Let the sauce thicken for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally. Once thickened, slice the steaks if desired, plate them, and drizzle with sauce and garnish with parsley.
