Preparation Steps
- Wash and cut broccoli into bite-sized florets, discarding any tough stems. Finely dice red onion.
- In a separate bowl, combine mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Whisk until smooth.
- Fold in dried cranberries and crumbled bacon into the broccoli and onion mixture. Optionally add sunflower seeds keeping some aside.
- Mix the dressing into the salad until everything is well coated.
- Cover and chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour, preferably up to six hours.
- Just before serving, sprinkle remaining sunflower seeds on top.
