  • 1 tsp Ground Cumin
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 1 tbsp Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1 medium Yellow Onion Diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced
For the Tacos
  • 8 small Tortillas Corn or flour
  • 2 cups Shredded Cabbage
  • 2 medium Avocado Sliced
  • to taste Hot Sauce
  • 2 wedge Lime Cut into wedges
  • 1/4 cup Cilantro Optional
  • 1/4 cup Pickled Jalapeños Optional

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Crumble the tempeh into a small bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and mix in the spices. Let marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat a skillet and sauté the onion in olive oil for about 5 minutes until golden. Add minced garlic and cook for 2 more minutes.
  3. Add the seasoned tempeh to the skillet and cook for 7-10 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  4. Warm tortillas in a skillet for 30 seconds on each side or in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes.
  5. Assemble tacos with a warm tortilla, shredded cabbage, tempeh filling, avocado, and optional toppings.
  6. Serve with lime wedges and hot sauce, allowing everyone to customize their tacos.
