- Slice sweet onions into even rings and layer them in the greased baking dish.
- Melt butter and drizzle it over the onions. Sprinkle garlic powder, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper evenly on top.
- Sprinkle cheddar, Monterey Jack, and Parmesan cheeses generously on top of the seasoned onions.
- Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake uncovered for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is golden brown.
