Ingredients
  

For the Pasta
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
For the Cheese Sauce
  • 4 tablespoons butter can substitute with margarine
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour or gluten-free flour
  • 2 cups whole milk or unsweetened almond milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese aged recommended
For the Topping
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs or crushed crackers/panko

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Cook pasta in salted boiling water until al dente, about 7-8 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter and whisk in flour to create a roux. Cook for 1 minute.
  3. Gradually add milk, stirring until thickened, about 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat.
  4. Stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
  5. Combine cheese sauce with cooked pasta, mixing until well coated.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer to a greased baking dish, top with breadcrumbs, and bake for 20-25 minutes.
