Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the unsalted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar on medium speed for about 2–3 minutes.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly. Then pour in the vanilla extract and beat for an additional minute.
  4. Sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually fold this dry mixture into the creamed butter mixture until just combined.
  5. Gently stir in the chocolate chips and crushed candy canes until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  6. Portion out balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden and centers remain soft.
  8. Cool the cookies on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  9. Melt white chocolate in the microwave and drizzle over each cookie, adding more crushed candy canes if desired.
