Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the unsalted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar on medium speed for about 2–3 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly. Then pour in the vanilla extract and beat for an additional minute.
- Sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually fold this dry mixture into the creamed butter mixture until just combined.
- Gently stir in the chocolate chips and crushed candy canes until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Portion out balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden and centers remain soft.
- Cool the cookies on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Melt white chocolate in the microwave and drizzle over each cookie, adding more crushed candy canes if desired.
